Why Doochang Doodoi Elephant Home ?
A New Beginning for the Saen Elephant Family
The “Saen Elephant Family” was created through the compassion of Phra Kru Aod, supported by nationwide donations to rescue elephants from hard labor and abandonment. Today, they live freely in a safe, natural environment without commercial exploitation, marking a true new beginning focused on care and respect.
Inspired by Wat Chedi Luang, all elephants are named with the prefix “Saen,” reflecting their shared identity, with around 24 elephants currently in residence. Elephants here are highly intelligent, able to learn from a young age, understand commands, and adapt to different situations—showing potential far beyond traditional roles.
Following the Mae Taeng flash flood, the sanctuary became one of the first in the world to train elephants for real rescue missions in collaboration with local teams. They have since supported wildfire control by clearing firebreaks and transported supplies to flood-affected areas where vehicles cannot reach.
At the heart of everything is the strong bond between elephants and their mahouts—built on trust, understanding, and lifelong care. Here, elephants are treated as family members, ensuring their well-being, dignity, and a meaningful life beyond tourism.
Programme Details
- Your day begins with a hotel pick-up by private vehicle between 07:30 – 08:00 AM. Enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 1.5 hours through the countryside to reach the elephant sanctuary (Join)
- Upon arrival, you will change into traditional clothing provided by the camp before starting your experience. Begin by feeding the elephants and learning about their behavior, lifestyle, and the differences between African and Asian elephants.
- Take part in hands-on activities such as preparing banana treats and making natural herbal soap used for bathing the elephants.
- Continue your experience with a bamboo rafting activity across the river, followed by interacting with the elephants in the mud pool.
- End this session by joining the elephants in the river for bathing, where you can enjoy playful moments and capture memorable photos. A delicious buffet lunch will be served at the camp.
Duration: Approximately 1.5 – 2 hours, including all activities and lunch (depending on group pace).
Dantewada Land of Angels Waterfall Park
- After lunch, continue your journey to Angel Land, a peaceful hidden gem surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty. The travel time is approximately 15 minutes.
- You will have approximately 1 hour to explore this serene area, featuring small waterfalls, bamboo walkways, and scenic viewpoints. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, making it an ideal place to relax and reconnect with nature.
- Enjoy an easy walk suitable for all ages while capturing photos at unique viewpoints and picturesque jungle settings.
- After the visit, continue to Sticky Waterfall. The travel time is approximately 45 minutes.
Sticky Waterfall (Bua Tong Waterfall)
- The final stop of the day is the famous Sticky Waterfall, known for its unique limestone surface that allows you to climb up the waterfall safely without slipping.
- You will spend approximately 1 – 1.5 hours here, enjoying the refreshing natural spring water that flows year-round. Take your time climbing up and down the waterfall for a fun and interactive experience.
- Nearby, you will also visit the mineral spring known as Nam Phu Chet Si, where you can see striking turquoise-colored water emerging from the ground.
- After the visit, relax on the return journey to your hotel 05.30 -06.00 pm., with an estimated travel time of approximately 1 hour.

- The duration of each activity is approximate and may vary depending on local conditions, weather, traffic, and overall tour operations.
- The tour includes up to 10 hours of service. Overtime usage will incur an additional charge of 200 THB per hour, payable directly to the driver on the day of travel.
