Want to join the Kayak Tour in the city?
We can get to Chiang Dao Valley by driving north for about an hour. The huge, fan-shaped Chiang Dao Mountain can be seen for miles ahead. It's almost time for our river Put In and the start of our cave walk. A local cave guide with a gas lantern walks with us for about an hour as we explore the large tunnels of Chiang Dao Cave. The head lamps help us find our way around the cave system. The big caves with high ceilings don't leave any blanks for our imaginations. The local guide is very excited to show off the different forms that look like plants and animals from the area. Bats are sleeping high up on the roof before going outside to eat fruits that grow nearby. The cave trip goes around and ends in a well-lit area with many Buddha statues and other religious items. We get to where we're having lunch after a short walk through the temple grounds. Since it's lunchtime, now is a good time to tell the guide about any food allergies. After a hearty meal that makes us feel stronger, we head to the Ping River to put our kayaks down. Our kayak trip, which lasts two hours or more, takes us south through untouched jungle and bird- and animal-life. Water buffaloes grazing by the river watch us paddle by. With bush and farmland all around, the trip is very peaceful as we go through the creek. It's a great spot to learn the sport, and for many people, it's their first time there. The changes in the water level throughout the year are taken into account when we pick the Put-in. This way, we can take safe trips every time. Entry fee, river fee, and insurance of 150 baht are extra charges. When we get to our takeout at "Rocky Dam" by boat, we can't help but be amazed by the mountain range to the west, with Chiang Dao mountain standing out as the most beautiful. We get back together and then start the drive back to Chiang Mai. We'll take you back to your hotel. Getting there around 05.30 p.m. This is truly a trip of a lifetime, combining two of our favorite past times in unforgettable nature. Beginners in both arts are welcome
