Doi Luang Chiang Dao
Doi Luang Chiang Dao is Thailand’s third-highest limestone mountain, rising 2,175 metres above sea level. Located within the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, the mountain is known for its rich biodiversity, rare plants and wildlife, and its long-standing spiritual importance to local communities. Today, the surrounding area is also recognised as part of the UNESCO-designated Doi Chiang Dao Biosphere Reserve.
Chiang Dao Cave
Located at the foot of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, Chiang Dao Cave is a vast limestone cave filled with stalactites, stalagmites, chambers, sacred Buddha images, and local shrines. The cave is closely connected to local beliefs and legends, including stories of Nagas guarding its hidden depths. Its cool, peaceful atmosphere makes it a fascinating place to discover both the natural and spiritual heritage of Chiang Dao.
Ethnic Village Cultures
Discover the traditions and ways of life of ethnic communities in the mountain areas of Chiang Dao. Learn about traditional farming, hand weaving, handicrafts, distinctive clothing, and everyday village life. The visit offers a closer look at how local communities have preserved their cultural traditions and ways of living across generations.
Program Details
08:00–08:30 AM – Hotel Pickup
Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai city and travel north to Chiang Dao District. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, with scenic countryside and mountain views along the way.
Doi Luang Chiang Dao Viewpoint & TaTa Café
Make your first stop at TaTa Café, a peaceful viewpoint café with panoramic views of Doi Luang Chiang Dao. Take time to relax, enjoy a coffee or refreshing drink, capture photos, and admire the impressive mountain scenery.
Approximate stop: 30–45 minutes
Chiang Dao Cave & Lunch
Continue by van for approximately 20 minutes to Chiang Dao Cave. Enjoy lunch in a peaceful local setting before exploring the cave. Discover impressive limestone formations, sacred Buddha images, shrines, and atmospheric chambers reflecting both the natural beauty and local beliefs of Chiang Dao.
Approximate cave visit: 1 hour
Travel to the Hill Tribe Village
After visiting Chiang Dao Cave, continue by van for approximately 30 mins to the hill tribe village, enjoying peaceful mountain and countryside scenery along the way.
01:00 PM – Hill Tribe Village
From the arrival point, take a short 20–30 minute walk to reach the village. Learn about the traditions and daily life of local ethnic communities. Discover traditional clothing, handicrafts, village homes, farming practices, and aspects of everyday village life.
03:00 PM – Return to Chiang Mai
Depart from the hill tribe village and begin the journey back to Chiang Mai city.
04:00–04:30 PM – Hotel Drop-off
Arrive back at your hotel in Chiang Mai, marking the end of your full-day Chiang Dao experience.

- A passport copy is required for train tickets and special-event tickets. Please email it to us after booking.
- Train tickets, admission tickets, and special-event tickets, including Loy Krathong tickets, are non-refundable once purchased.
- Tour cancellations made at least 2 days before the travel date are eligible for a full refund, less any non-refundable payment processing, bank, or transaction fees.
- Tour cancellations made less than 2 days before the travel date and no-shows are non-refundable.
- Payment processing fees, credit card fees, payment gateway fees, bank charges, and other transaction fees are non-refundable and may be deducted from the refund amount.
- Refunds will be processed through the original payment method whenever possible. If this is not possible, an alternative refund method will be arranged.
- In the event of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances, such as severe weather, unsafe conditions, or cancellation by our business partner(s), we reserve the right to cancel or modify the tour. If the tour is cancelled by us, guests will be offered a refund or an alternative arrangement, as applicable.
