Experience a memorable 2-day, 1-night journey from Chiang Rai to Luang Prabang along the stunning Mekong River. Begin with a convenient hotel pickup in Chiang Rai before crossing the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge. Board a traditional Lao slow boat and explore remote riverside villages while discovering authentic local culture. Spend the night in Pakbeng, then continue your adventure the following day with a stop at Ban Muang village, known for its traditional Lao whisky, and a visit to the Pak Ou Caves filled with thousands of Buddha statues. Complete your trip by arriving in the historic city of Luang Prabang.

Program details
This Tour Start From Chiang Rai
Day 1: Chiang Rai - Huay Xai - Pakbeng
05:00–05:30 am – Pick up by Air-conditioned van.
07:30 am – Arrive at Chiang Khong border.
08:00 am – Meet our English-speaking team holding a welcome sign, then take the bus across the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge No.4 (fee included).
09:00–09:30 am – Transfer to the pier.
Morning – Arrive at Pak Tha for the boat checkpoint. Your guide will share important travel guidelines, local customs, and interesting facts about Laos.
Lunch – Enjoy a traditional Lao meal served on board.
Afternoon – Visit a traditional Kamu village called Banking Law, a small, welcoming community of around 70 families. Discover rural life in this remote area before continuing to Pakbeng.
Evening – Overnight stay in Pakbeng (hotel not included).
Remark : The VIP van transfer from Chiang Rai to Huay Xai will be shared with other guests traveling to Chiang khong Boarder.

Day 2: Pakbeng - Luang Prabang
08:00 am – Depart from Pakbeng.
Morning – Your guide will demonstrate traditional local handicrafts and show you how to prepare Lao-style desserts and drinks.
Lunch – Enjoy a traditional Lao meal served on board.
Afternoon – Visit Ban Muang village, well known for producing authentic Lao whiskey. Continue to the Pak Ou Caves, where you’ll see over 2,000 Buddha statues. Savor homemade desserts and refreshments during the cruise.
4:30–5:00 pm – Arrive in Luang Prabang.
Remark : From November to February,it can get cold during the cruise,do not forget to bring a jacket.

Reservations are required at least two days in advance. For last-minute bookings one day before tours start, kindly contact us.

Laos Visa fee: 1,800 -2,000 THB or $40 USD (cash only) If you use USD, the bills must be in perfect condition — not torn, dirty, or old. Only new bills are accepted.
Visa photo(If you don’t have a photo, you can inform our team. We offer a photo service for 100 THB, 2-inch photo.
A tourist tax of approximately THB 70–100 applies. E-visa and visa exemption holders must pay this fee directly at the Laos border control.

Visa & Arrival Card (Laos – Land Border): Even with a Laos e-Visa, travelers entering via Friendship Bridge 4 must complete the paper arrival card at the Lao border. Online arrival forms apply to air arrivals only.
You’ll get a full refund if you cancel at least 7 days prior to the travel date.

Refunds will be made via cash or bank transfer. Any bank fee that occurred will be deducted from the refund amount.
